Complaint / review text:
I made a purchase on 5 Jan for over R44 000.00, the bank called to confirm the transaction and approved it. A week later I noticed the funds were back in my account and on the online banking statement it noted that the transaction had been declined. I called the call centre and they confirmed that the transaction had been declined and that I should process it again. Someone suggested that it might be due to a daily limit so I processed R30 000.00 and the balance the next day. Both transactions went through without any problem, other payments also went through without a problem. Today the merchant called me to say the first payment had now gone through, so i checked my bank statement and discovered the declined transaction changed to purchase!
The challenge I am now faced with is that my credit limit has been exceeded. I again called the call centre requesting an explanation and assistance. The only advise was to get the merchant to reverse the transaction. This however will take over a week and in the mean time I have an overdrawn credit card that I cant use. I asked to speak to a manager to assist (Ndivhuho) who was not able to assist me any more than the consultant!
