Complaint / review text:
After my Sears card expired last month with 37000 reward points, I received a letter a week later informing me that they would not renew my card. So I thought, who needs them, and logged in to claim my reward points.
It shows the points as "earned" but i would not allow me to redeem them. Called in and was told since my account was closed, the points were forfeited. However, the account is not closed; I still have an balance and have not (and will not) pay it off until the matter of the points is revolved. After escalating to the "office of the president" (located in NC; nowhere near the president's office) I was told there was nothing they could do since my account was closed.
I again told them the account was not closed; I simply did not have any further credit privileges. I am an attorney and told them their letter nowhere said my account was closed and wanted them to send me a letter stating it was closed. And if it is closed, then I guess I owe them no money, correct?
No help with them at all.
I am ready to file a class action and am really pissed.
