Complaint / review text:
When I opened a checking account with Huntington bank, last year. I deposited my student loan and grant money.
For some reason, an overdraft occurred a few months later. This account was closed and I have since settled the debt to said bank. Over 500 dollars worth. Recently I began a new job where my pay is direct deposit only.
I opened a new checking account and a saving account. I placed $0 dollars in each. Less than a week later, they closed my accounts sending me checks for the money I deposited. But, my pay was directed to this account before I could do anything about it.
I believed my account was still open. I read where banks must give you 30 days' notice to allow you time to open an account elsewhere. The bank said my pay would have been directed back to where it came from.
Still don't know the ramifications of that one. Anyone have any advice on this subject?
Not $0 in each account. $40.00 in each account.
