Complaint / review text:
On 26 March 2015 I attempted to withdraw an amount of R500.00 from a Standard Bank ATM at a shopping centre in Kempton Park. The ATM gave me my bank card back and as I was about to receive the cash, there was load-shedding at the shopping centre and the ATM machine shut down. I never got the money!
I launched a dispute with FNB about this transaction and the R500 was credited back into my account on 1 April after they did their own investigation with Standard Bank. But to my surprise, on 19 May that R500 was again debited from my account, and I was told by at least three FNB consultants by now that FNB and Standard Bank have concluded that I actually received the money from the ATM. If this is the conclusion reached by both banks, it means they are accusing me of.
I have recently gone to an FNB branch to launch another dispute in an attempt to recover the R500 that has been debited from my account. On Monday, I received the outcome of the dispute, which is that my dispute was settled on 1 April. This takes me back to step 1.
FNB, please give me my money!!
