Complaint / review text:
My nephew is enrolled with Porter & Chester in Westboro MA for HVAC. Some of the stories he tells me are very disturbing about this Institution... (scam?)
The hands on training cannot be conducted or learned by the students (not just my nephew... The whole class) not because of lack of interest. It is because the school cannot afford to by copper pipes and other materials needed to practice with. When the class complained they were told there was a problem ordering the materials. I don't think Home Depot is that far away that a class of students paying $25,000 to this school, that someone from the school couldn't have picked up 10 pieces of copper pipe.
The students as a whole have complained numerous times that they do not feel they are getting their money's worth. Down time not learning just sitting in class, the teacher is out roaming the hall. Then they are told they have to fulfill xx amount of hours to get certified and this fulfills those hours. By this logic a kindergarten class should be able to be certified during nap time.
I hope these messages get through to Porter & Chester they are potentially RUINING the lives of young hard working people who can not afford a college, putting them in debt and not giving them what they need to start a career. I cannot think of a lower form of scam than this. After the students complained to a teacher about their lack of satisfaction, he called them "Whiney *itches" nice comeback from an educator who is supposed to be preparing these students for the real world.
Get the word out if you are a Porter/Chester Grad or relative that the SCHOOL needs to change their ATTITUDE and put the blame where it belongs
