Complaint / review text:
Sandoz Metoprolol Succinate ER tablets recall has been done rather quietly. Many patients are dissatisfied with lack of information from Sandoz, FDA, or their pharmacy about why this generic Toprol pill was pulled. I was taking Metoprolol Succinate as provided by Walgreens. I went last week to get a refill and was told no longer generic; it would be provided with brand name due to recall. I received refill in brand name. I wanted to know why there was a recall. I read IPC Pharmacy Industry News site letter dated 11-12-2008, where it is stated, they recalled drug on September 17,2008. My question: Why did Walgreens provide me a refill of this recalled drug on 19 December 2008? Were they (Walgreens) not remiss in not pulling the drugs in Sept. 08? Thanks!
