I might as well have gone to Bara

I was admitted into Flora Clinic on 26 December 2014 with a kidney infection. Besides waiting to be seen by a doctor in casualty, the service was good. I was admitted into the ward and still had no problem. From my third day there I realized that Dr Ridwaan Kirsten was the only doctor on call in the hospital and was therefore only in the ward to do his rounds for a few minutes a day. I had to tell him that I'm dissatisfied with how little feedback I'm getting about my condition. The next day he arrived in the morning instead of arriving after 8pm like he did the previous night. He did a blood test and said I should be out by today. This morning he did his rounds in my ward but did not see me and only saw me after 1pm, after I asked the nurse in charge to phone him. When he eventually came, he discharged me after only listening to my chest. This means that I'll have to pay for an extra day there since I was discharged after 12 all because he couldn't take 45 seconds to listen to my chest and sign my discharge form when he did his morning rounds. The nurses were amazing the whole time but if I was OK with there being 400 patients to 1 doctor I would have gone to Bara
