Complaint / review text:
I became a member in September 2015. I know that the subscription should've expired by now. Within a week of becoming a member my matches were people totally not suited to me. When someone who sent me a contact email his profile was exactly what I was looking for. However it was guaranteed a fake profile and someone who wanted me to contact him privately at his email and suggested me to use a link to access his photo. I didn't ever click on it. After 4 months of persevering with this scam dating site, I cancelled my subscription but because I took an annual subscription I still had to leave my profile up there until it expires. I continued to get annoying emails from eHarmony to check matches and reconsider my subscription.
I deleted almost everything on my profile that would represent someone looking and instead tried to expose the site for its most uselessness to assisting someone to find a life partner. They do not do one thing promised. Their rigorous personality questions to match you to your exact match seemed to be a means through which they produced the exact opposite results working at your level of neediness for a partner. I continued to delete their emails.
Since the start of August I've been getting emails first to renew my subscription and as soon as it was September I received an email stating that the friction of 280 was not successful and my subscription is at risk. So despite the fact that I've made it clear through cancelling my subscription, setting up an angry frustrated profile about them, they illegally tried to deduct money from my account under pretext that I want to continue with this nightmare. I sent them an email at support @eHarmony.com staying just that and to not try to deduct money from me and to stop contacting me.
I was of course totally ignored and they continued to send me match emails or emails about someone sending me questions and I continued to delete them. It was the last straw today when I received another email about them being unable to deduct the next year subscription from my account. Knowing that I fully hated this site, cancelled my subscription not even half way into becoming a member, deleted anything that made sense on my profile and trying to expose them as the biggest scam preying on our neediness.
I have come to the point that I feel this company should be investigated, sued and charged with attempted theft. Or whatever the legal terms are. This site arrogantly and unashamedly is about exploiting the vulnerability of their members and making it impossible to leave them. Please get my name off their site and stop it from emailing me and even more importantly stop it from attempting to deduct money from my account for the next year when it was clearly cancelled. Thank you.
Sorry, I refuse to go back on the site to find my order number... Should you need it later. I will. They even control who views your profile by only sending you matches. They don't let you search. To view my profile: I'm Sandra, Maths teacher 55, Southbank. You can contact me for my log in details to read my profile and I can collect all correspondence with them should you need it.
