Why pay when there is nothing to watch?

Likewise, I disconnect / reconnect my decoder on an ad hoc basis, as much of the time there is nothing to watch. I pay Multichoice according to their statement, which appears to be automated, and is calculated on the number of hours that the decoder is on. If this has been possible / allowed in the past, why the sudden referral to the T&C's? Probably because they have noticed just how many 'subscribers' actually disconnect the decoders! Well, about to lose me as a customer...
