Complaint / review text:
Went to Macy's in Germantown MD today to buy some kitchenware. I had just spent $150 with them online a week previously but apparently online you cant use store credit which I had on a store gift card.
So went to use it at the store and they said that the data was unavailable for my store gift card. They told me I had to call the number on the back of the card. Then they did that themselves, but no help came from that quarter. Finally to make a very long story short, the store manager told me that unless I had a reciept for the store credit they couldnt help me.
What the heck?! Why do I even have a card for credit from them if its the reciept they need. No I didnt have the receipt anymore. They made me feel as if I had obtained my store credit illegally or something, it was really awful.
So they dont care, and my money on the card is lost. I might as well have thrown the items previously returned for that credit in the trash or just given them away - at least then someone other this big chain store would have benefited. No sense of customer care.
Im furious at them. I dont ever want to shop there again.
