Yesterday, I returned an item in-store and received store credit in the form of EZ Exchange card. Amount $69.05 - a lot of money for me. I was given a receipt with the card number on it, plus all the other details of the transaction. Once I get home I realize I have lost the card itself (it looks like a credit card/gift card) but still have the receipts and everything, I must have dropped the card in the store.
I run back into the store, associate at the register says she will check lost and found; nothing has turned up. She then tells me there is NOTHING they can do for me to get my credit back.
So when I get home I call the store and ask for manager. The mgr tells me I have to come into the store in person with my ID and then they will report the card stolen. There's no way to report it stolen in the meantime, because they need the pin number[??? ] so meanwhile someone has probably picked up the card off the floor, used it, and I'm SOL.
Left the store at 5pm. Won't be able to get back there until 12pm today, my lunch break. I'm sure the card is stolen/used by now. But until I get to the store in person and show an ID, they cannot void or flag this card. I find that insane.
The main macy's CS phone line can't help with any purchases that were made in-store, btw, so they refereed me to call the local store directly.
