Complaint / review text:
On Feb 9th I went to our local Macy's to purchase a new bra. I found one I liked, and planned to use a Simon Mall Visa gift card for it. The lady rang up my purchase, swiped my card, then said she hadn't typed in the amount of the card, so she cancelled the transaction and re did it. When she went to swipe the card again, the register said "contact issuer". Three times she tried it, and still the same result. So I handed her my other Simon Mall Visa card, it went through. I asked what I should do about the other card and the missing money. She told me I would have to call the number on the back of the card. I did while I was still in the store and of course there were no humans to help. So I went looking for a store manager. I found one, she was no help, walked me out to the customer service desk in the middle of the mall and had me tell the lady there my issue. She looked up the account history and saw that both cards had been charged for the entire $35. She said I would have to deal with Macy's.
I called and called and no one was able to help me get my stolen money returned. Finally today I spoke with a lady who offered to send me $35 worth of Macy's Money. Better than nothing, I guess. Needless to say, as soon as I use their store credit to purchase some overpriced item, that will be the last time any money of mine goes towards their store.
The lady was helpful in that I got some sort of result with her, but all I wanted was my $35 back on that Visa card.
