I will only explain what I wish I knew when I was trying to work out the best way to spend my money on work out equipment. I was torn between NordicTrack freestrider and the Bowflex stepper. I sadly decided to invest close to $4,000 dollars for the NordicTrack and the extended warranty. My machine was delivered in a beat up box - and there was a loud thumping in the right wheel.in contacting customer service I was repeated asked to fix the machine myself by using page 28 in the manual. When I could not fix it - they then asked me to diagnose the issue - where is it, can I see it, exactly what does it sound like... Though they had all of my information - again asked twice more for my model number.
When I finally told them I was done trying to fix their machine - and reminded them it was less than a week old - they decided to order ball bearings... Not a single word from the customer service folks to tell me the part that they just ordered was on backorder. I noticed when I got the email... So I call and ask - NO ETA on the part. Bottom line - email support has 48 hours to even answer you - so if you don't have time to sit on the phone - be prepared to wait two days to get any response.
At any rate - BOTTOM LINE - I have a brand new $4000 machine that is too loud to enjoy the workout. I was ordered parts sight unseen - that may or may not be the correct parts - on backorder with no ETA. Once I get those in the next few months - a service call will be arranged. Probably the wrong parts - probably another 6 months for this thing to be useful and by then they have half of their money. They do not care - they are cavalier in their attitude and really don't care. Buy a bowflex.
