I had an agreement with Vodacom to pay arrears during April 2014. Payment of R7000 was made on Tuesday 29 April 2014. On Wednesday 13 August 2014 a R1000 payment was made, but VODACOM said the did not receive it, even though I sent a proof of payment. They could not locate the amount paid. I made the arrangement at Queenstown branch that I would temporalily stop payments until the R1000 was located. Vodacom said they would get to me. THEY NEVER DID.in order to keep my side clean, I made a R3000 payment on Thursday 13 November 2014 and forward the proof of payment. Then to my astonishment I found that my account was handed over to Sterling in April already. QUESTION: How can VODACOM make payment arrangements in AUGUST if the account was already handed over in APRIL??? I called the credit bureu and they said my outstanding balance is R16000. Sterling claims R24000 now from me. WOW!!! Charging R8000 for sending me 3 e-mails??? Ripp-off? VODACOM did not honour it's word by accepting the R1000 suggested by them and handed me over months before making the arrangement. How can a service provider make payment arrangements months after handing their client over to a debt collector.
