Complaint / review text:
I have a contract with MTN since August 2012
Contract is a 200 TopUp - Samsung S2. I receive R200 airtime, 25 sms's, 100mb data a month for a monthly fee of R269. My contract is about to expire. I have accrued airtime of close to R900.
Called 808, an MTN store, looked online. All give conflicting answers.
808: If I downgrade or not renew, I will forfeit airtime.
MTN Store: Same as above. Upon inquiry on signing up for a R200 TopUp contract using my EXISTING PHONE, I was told it would cost R249 per month.

"8.5. MTN Contract and MTN TopUp Subscribers who migrate to the My MTNChoice Internet Price Plans shall retain any Carry-Over Value. The Carry-Over Value will be added to the respective wallet and the expiry/carry-over rules related to that wallet will apply. However, off peak minutes shall be migrated to the MTN to MTN wallet."
Now all MTN's contracts are advertised as MyChoice, where you get minutes instead of airtime. To directly equate a MyChoice 200 with a 200 TopUp is grossly unfair due to MyChoice 200 costing twice as much.
