Complaint / review text:
My husband & I have gone into this store several times with the intention to rescue a pet. We have a dog and a cat at home right now but would like another. Today was the fourth time we've gone in there & the dogs were eating their own feces. I went to find a worker & one of the girls said that today was her 1st day & she couldn't help. I had to explain to her what feces was. One lady was letting a customer play with a pet, & the manager was on the phone.
I stood at the counter for 5 mins. Before the manager acknowledged me. When I told her that the pug had devoured his feces she immediately went on the defensive. She said she was there by herself & when I pointed to the 2 other workers she said that they had just gotten there. She said that she was doing the best that she could. I told her that in this store the pets should come before the customers. She didn't seem to agree with me. I went back about 5 mins. Later & she was finally cleaning the cages. Although, she did a poor job because she took out the grates but left the urine & feces underneath. She didn't bother to clean any of it.
My husband was trying to get another dogs attention because the dog was attempting to eat his also. The manager just left the door to his cage open so he could get to what had fallen below the grate. This is repulsive. Not only for the starving animals but also for the customers. If I could rescue all of them I would but it breaks my heart to see these animals in this environment. Something MUST be done!
