Graduating in May 2013, I am enrolled in the Esthetics program. My journey through my new career has been impacted by passion. You would think pursuing a dream that you love to do everyday would overcome the level of tolerance needed to deal with, let's just say a delightful nightmare. The building: It absolutely blows my mind how they stay in business. Our laundry area is within 6 inches of our break area. The women's bathroom stalls have boogers on the wall. And that's where I'm sending the clients after an hour relaxing facial? The Esthetics treatment room is always gross. Would it kill them to actually mop once a month?! The staff: They're unprofessional, severely lacks organization and consistency. Total phonies. Yes, whoever said they just want your money is totally right. Things that were promised have changed. The lead instructor, Cindy, should not be the one who decides when procedures change when it fits her needs.
Students: Seriously, most of these kids are 18 years old. Not one single day goes by that I stand in the sun for a break and notice car loads of people smoking weed in their car. My aunt informed me that when she went there for an easy polish change, the girl appeared to be high on something. Obviously, it would be speculation if I hadn't been standing next to the girl outside the doors and watched her light a pipe with my own eyes just weeks prior. Suspect. Cosmo students are constantly walking into the esthetics room with blood shot eyes asking for help on a wax. When it's brought to the lead instructor’s attention, you can tell it's a chore to deal with the ridiculous people. I can't believe how incredibly unprofessional these people are.
Seriously, what was I thinking? If I wasn't $11,000 in debt, I would walk away. Do they not realize that for every unhappy successful student, there are hundreds of potential clients to follow? If you add up the numbers, would it not concern a business owner, that in a city like Las Vegas, the reputation of that establishment is of importance? Well, obviously they know that. That's why they hired car salesman, only it's a beauty school.
