I went to Europe for two months and didn't bother paying my insurance premium as I would not be driving my car. Upon my return I contacted Miway and told them I would like my cover to commence again. I gave them new Banking details and they advised I would now have to go for re-inspection. I did what they'd requested. Last week I received an SMS from MIWAY saying I have not settled my premium. I checked my bank statement and saw they had debited me two consecutive days. The first one was successful and the second debit my bank didn't allow. I called and spoke to a lady named SHARLOTTE who asked me to email proof of payment. I emailed her my proof and also confirmed the payment with my bank. She called me back saying she could see it was unsuccessful. I tried to explain that Miway for some reason tried debiting me twice, and it was only the second attempt that was unsuccessful. She said she will have to confirm this and I made her promise she will return my call. She never did. Apart from this, according to her - they have not received my inspection certificate from Glasfit Capetown where I had been to Inspect. I'm thinking of cancelling my policy!!
