Absa deducted a substantial amount from my money market account, without any prior notice and I do not owe Absa a cent. They blamed it on the African Bank situation but that does not make it lawful at all.
I spoke to my private banker at Absa, Ryan Kelly and he just washed his hands of it and refused to pay the money back. I then gave him notice that I will pull all my banking from Absa and Ryan could not care less because I am only one paying client that has been a loyal client for 23 years - Absa is clearly too big to care. I have the call recordings between myself and Ryan if anyone is interested.
They have not forced me to follow my legal recourse in court, Consumer Protector and Banking Ombudsmen. I will update this post once done.
Absa = steer clear!
