A few days ago, I was contacted by a collection agency for Dell Financial Services. They said my account was in their hands because Dell did not receive any payments on the account. I bought The computer on 9/5/08, and here it is 12/21/08, no bill was received and a collection agency contacting me! I tried to go online to pay my bill, and with no knowledge of my account number, since I had not received a bill, I could not. I tried calling but each time I was routed to the collection agency who wanted my checking account number to set up a one time payment at my expense, late fees and processing costs. Well, I am not a fool and don't just give out my number to anyone.
Anyhow, to date, I have not received a bill, no account number, but I did manage to skirt the blood suckers additional fees by making a phone payment of $100 for the $78 my account was overdue. I have sent numerous emails to dell with a boggus account number in hopes they get my message and send me a billing statement. I have also contacted a local attorney in the matter. All I can say, this had better not come up on my credit report or I will have a field day. This is the last time I deal with Dell!
