Complaint / review text:
On 10/08/2014 my main bedroom window was broken by a stray bullet. My spare bedroom window small wood frame bent because of heavy rain in the winter which penetrated the wood frame. On Monday 11/08/2014 I reported these incidents to Absa Bank; insurance department. On 14/08/2014 I had no response and failed a complaint. I then received a mail from Me Albertyn Absa Cape Town that I can get somebody to repair the main bedroom window and they will refund me. She also told me that the small bedroom window will be a separate claim to be registered. The big window was fixed on 19/08/2014 after I had to do all the work regarding quotations and first had to pay. I also had to pay an additional R500 although I am 66 years of age which other insurance brokers do not ask. On 22/08/2014 the claim of my small window frame was not approved and after I phoned Me. Albertyn again was told that they wont pay for the window frame. I paid insurance from 2004 with no claims up to date.
