Dont fall for gold card upgrade sales pitch

Hi All, do not fall for a sales pitch from FNB Card advising you that you can upgrade from a Classic To Gold card with additional benefits. The only benefit you get is a small increase in a Credit Balance interest rate. I did the upgrade and what I received was an increased rate from 18.55% to 21.15%. FNB's admin fees have also increased. Previously used to be an annual fee debit equivalent to R 24.50 a month for a classic. They now charge a Card Fee of R 23-00 for Classic & R 24-50 for a Gold plus a Card facility fee of R 5-00 for a classic and R 7-50 for a Gold. It has taken FNB Card since the 14/08/2014 to reduce my rate back to the same rate as my Classic Card. One would think a personalised rate for a Gold Card upgrade would be better. First try other banks - ABSA and Nedbank only charge a monthly admin fee of R 21-00. Rates are also better. So much for "How Can We Help You". FNB, please do not contact me as I will be closing my account. This is just a warning to other FNB clients being duped by FNB.
