I have a Standard Bank Cheque account, together with a credit card. I need to do a payment to the Credit card from my cheque account, however i am unable to view the credit card on my internet banking. I called the 'Premier Banking' department to link this credit card so that i can make payment. My credit card had expired a while ago, and since i want to pay off my account I have not replaced the card. Standard Bank cannot link my accounts so that I can transfer funds into my credit card. They cannot do it online, telephonically or even at the branch. They insist I have to get a new credit card so that I can give them the reference.in an age where technology is so advanced, why does this incompetent bank require a card number for reference? I am not withdrawing from credit card but paying towards it. I have always had my credit card linked, however when I renewed my cheque card everything disappeared on my internet banking profile. Once my credit card is paid I am going to close all my account with them. There are plenty other banks that offer better service at the convenience of the customer.
