I had opened an HAAS account via US Bank so that I can help pay for my daughter's confirmation. I was paying it off as much as I could, to the point where I had nearly paid it off. I then get an email stating that due to a credit report (which was an old report), they had lowered my limit so that I would be over the limit. I then started getting charged $39 a day for constantly being over. I would call up the bank requesting this to be remedied. I was told they will look into it. Two weeks later, I get letters stating that since my credit wasn't good, they were keeping to their original decision.

In months to come, I would not use the card and started paying twice a month to show good faith. Recently, they raised my APR to an outrageous 27.5% because I was over the limit. I replied that since their finance charges were more than what I was paying per month, this was robbery on their part. If I was showing good faith in making regular payments, why would they incur more debt against me? I wish I could see justice in this. I would like for some sort of government agency to go after US Bank and other bank credit cards who attack us, the consumer, to the point that our credit is ruined, thanks to them. I find it nearly impossible to pay off the card. I do not know what else I can do.
