On 20 November 2014 I received an sms from Absa Bank that they have debited by account with R707.00 in favor of my Absa Personal loan. I am currently in debt counseling since September 2012 and managed by Octogen. My debt counseling is active and I have not defaulted on any payment arrangements made and agreed upon by Absa & Octogen. My debt counseling has been before the court, and this can be confirmed with Octogen at 011 4510000 or the Credit Buro. I am an employee at Absa and have been employed for ten years they did not send me any prior notification of the said debit against my account nor a telephonic agreement.
I don't think what Absa did against my account is transparent nor honest which states ABSA TRANSFERRED FUNDS TO YOUR PERSONAL LOAN FROM SAVINGS/CHEQUE ACCOUNT. TEL 0861 222 272 opt 2.
This message came 30 minutes after the notify me service advising that my account was debted without consulting my debt Counsellor or Me. Is Absa allowed to do this? Even though they signed an agreement with Octogen or is it because I am an employee. I searched for assistance when I realised & accepted that I was overdebted and I stick to my agreement to repay my cre
