Please let me start off by saying "stay far away from molina healthcare ". I live in florida so it was required that on August 1st 2014 all medicaid recipients enroll into a managed care hmo appointed to the area that you live in.
Prior to being covered by molina, i was seeing several neurologist, orthopedic and neurosurgeon, specialists due to failed back surgery and numerous back problems. My back is to the point that it is considered inoperable, so i was seeing a pain doctor for over 3 years. I was also seeing a psychiatrist and counsler for depression and anxiety for the same amount of time. I also was seeing a primary doctor for hypertension and cholesterol.
I was doing ok with the doctors care and medications that i was on until i got stuck with Molina. Since i was transferred to molina i have not been able to get any health issues taken care of. The 1st pcp i went to scheduled me for bloodwork 3 times and had an excuse every time until i went in and was told my pcp had been changed. I went to the molina walk in and got my blood tsken there, when i called for my follow up they said my pcp was changed again.
I could not get referrals for a pain doc or a psychiatrist cause i didnt have a pcp
I now have a stack of grievances on my dresser that is thicker than a bible. I went through dangerous withdrawals from getting cut off of antidepressants, antianxiety and pain medications. I haven't been able to get my bloodpressure or cholesterol medications either. I had given up all hope stuck in an apartment not being able to walk with my mother taking care of me.
The only w as y to resolve the problem was to get help from my family to go buy insurance beyond molina and medicaid. Please if you read this and you have any dealings with molina stay away from them. Everything i have stated is the truth. Its now february and i haven't been able to receive any healthcare since i got stuck with molina in august.
They have made my life a living and have made my health much worse. Ill find out how much worse on monday since i am seeing a doctor under my new insurance.
