I recently applied for a loan with yours truly Standard Bank and it was declined, the reason being, two debit orders came back unpaid, the two unpaids were entirely Standard Bank's fault yet they made me pay for this.
The first transaction which came back unpaid was because i received a cheque payment from a customer and they cheque bounced, i never knew it bounced until i received a notification that my debit order came back unpaid, i had more than enough funds in my account yet it came back unpaid, i went to the bank to enquire why, they said when the cheque bounced, they froze my account, i mean, what the? Excuse number 1 and deduction in scoring point.
The second unpaid was even so silly, i knew i was going to have debit orders go off my account the next day & that afternoon i deposited funds into my account via Std instant ATM deposit, the next day debit order goes off & comes back unpaid, i was livid, i went to the bank & asked why, they told me, that i should have put in the money much earlier. Their terms & conditions dioesn't indicate that you must deposit money into your account at specific times?
I was declined because of this two unpaids! This is unjust!
