I tried filing w / Turbotax this year again and was about to make payment when I realized I'd incorrectly assumed that I could make payment from more than one bank account. I couldn't even make a partial payment from one account using Turbotax.
The real kicker was that once I realized all this, I found I had no way to file an extension any longer via Turbotax - I believe I'd gotten too far in the process on their system with filing my taxes and only had choice to pay in full from one account.
I called Turbotax today and verified that I was no longer able to file an extension and that there was not an option to pay with more than one account or even partially. They therefore refunded my money paid to use Turbotax.
Now I'm waiting for funds to transfer so can make payment in full but know I have incurred late fees for not paying on time and late fee for not filing on time - all because I did not realize Turbotax will not allow payment from more than one source, won't allow partial payment, and will not allow filing an extension after reaching a certain point in the process.
This was my first year paying taxes so I was waiting until the last minute to make sure I didn't forget any business expenses I'd had. I now wish I'd tried to file when I was actually ready - a week before the 15th.
