Complaint / review text:
Sold a vehicle to an individual the beginning of march 2015 using craigslist. The buyer bought the vehicle only having seen it in pictures.
I highly suggested he come to see it in person but he refused and wanted it right away. He had the vehicle transported to him after purchasing. About 2 weeks after he had the vehicle in his possession he started texting and calling saying he was unhappy with the purchase and wanted his funds returned. When i refused because it was clearly stated in the ad the purchase/sell was as is.
The buyer contacted paypal and they refunded his money and left a negative balance on my account. After calling paypal numerous times and getting no assistance and being told there is no protection for the buyer i am filing this complaint. I have called paypal over and over again and gotten no help. The buyer has not returned the vehicle but paypal already refunded the funds to his account.
I feel this is a huge discrepancy to me as the seller. The buyer has his funds and the vehicle. I am left with a negative balance on my paypal account. This is unacceptable on paypals behalf.
They are providing no assistance when i call and only keep reiterating that i owe the negative balance on the account.
There has to be some protection for the seller especially if the buyer has not returned the merchandise. It has been 3 months and there is no telling what condition the vehicle is in at this point.
