Complaint / review text:
I called Caremark "customer service" in Phoenix 7 times trying to get them to give my doctor the information she needed to get prior authorization for a medication. I got different answers from different representatives about the process and, after 5 days, was told they would call my doctor's office and the pharmacy and call me back. I never heard from them again. I finally talked directly to my pharmacist who was very clear about the process and contradicted everything I'd been told by the call center in Phoenix. The people at this call center are poorly trained, don't understand the process itself, if there is one, and don't have the information they need to do their job.
My prescription card has CMS, Caremark and Blue cross on it. It appears to be a conglomeration of inept, bureaucratic incompetents who have no regard for customer service, not to even mention the health of the people they serve. It is a terrible program and the companies that have switched to it to save money are apparently greedy, self-serving corporations who only look at how to increase their bottom line with no regard for the people who work for them.
