Complaint / review text:
I contacted Navient loans, formerly Sallie Mae, regarding arrangements for lower monthly payments.initial representative was quite rude when I told him I was experiencing some financial hardships. I requested to speak to another rep who was kind and helpful. I did get on a lower monthly payment plan. First payment was due in 2 days so I made payment over phone, and received verbal confirmation number besides email.
25 days later, I receive a letter from Navient my payment is late. I spent 35 minutes yesterday on phone speaking to a rep, Ina, besides a supervisor, Aldo, to clarify the matter that I paid 25 days ago providing confirmation number. I received both verbally and thru email. Aldo says Navient rep had my payment transferred to wrong educational account department. Well that is the Navient rep's error and not mine. I made my payment ON TIME 2 days before it was due.
I complained to Navient supervisor, Aldo. This is not the first time both Sallie Mae and Navient made an error and FALSELY said I was late on payments and reported info to IL Student Assistance Commission and credit bureau.in addition, I expressed to Navient I was contacting Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs, as it unnecessarily puts the consumer that is truly making on time payments at a disadvantage with Navient/Sallie Mae's continued errors.
