The company I work for only accepts cash and checks for payment, so a lot of customers pay by online Billpay. The customer sets up the payment online with their bank account, and the bank, through a separate service, issues a paper check to us. I also use Billpay with my own bank (NOT Wells Fargo). With the dozens of banks and credit unions that I see payments come from, Wells Fargo's Billpay checks are almost ALWAYS LATE! Our customers have a five-day grace period, and when Wells Fargo is late, they cause our customers to have to pay late fees.
EVERY OTHER BANK/CREDIT UNION dates the checks for when they are due, and I receive them when they are due. Wells Fargo dates them when they are due, and they get here six to seven days late; even two weeks late!!! I have known customers to CLOSE THEIR WELLS FARGO ACCOUNTS because of this procedure; it happened to them too often. Bottom line: Wells Fargo Bank is NOT reliable to get their customers' bills paid on time!
