Complaint / review text:
I received yesterday an IMCA unsolicited credit card with only instructions on how to activate it. Very similar to a real credit card account. My first thought was that my identity had been stolen. I called the number on the card to find out about the company, since I had never heard of them and had not applied for a card. I asked only for the physical mailing address of the company and an explanation of IMCA's business. The rep refused to give me any information unless I gave him the card account number. Which I did not, concerned it would activate the card. My identity and my business identity is something I work hard to protect.
The unsolicited card activation approach and the unwillingness (and rudeness) by the rep to provide any basic information about the company, unfortunately affirmed my concerns about the integrity of this company. Can someone tell me how to make sure personal information is removed from IMCA's records so I am never solicited again? I will watch for posts on this site for the answer. Thank you.
