I got an offer from Cenlar to refinance my loan through Quicken. I had to create a new escrow account and fund that. Then, Cenlar was supposed to refund my original escrow account, over $2,300 within two weeks of closing. It is now two months past closing and I still don't have my escrow money back. I have called seven times and EACH AND EVERY TIME, I am told another lie. The check's in the mail, the check was "missed", the check is missing, and on and on and on.
The last whopper was that they realized that the check was not sent and that they would overnight it to me, and that it would be sent on Tuesday. It is now Thursday and no check. So, I called again and was told that the last rep was mistaken and that they can't send a check until they stop the other one and wait "a certain amount of time". How long? Nobody knows. And now, over 15 minutes on hold and nothing is happening yet again. Everybody at this horrible and shady company tells you just what you want to hear and then does nothing. If you are refinancing, you should INSIST that Cenlar is not involved or you will be in danger of losing, literally, thousands of dollars.
