Under both the Bank of America Privacy Assist product and Experian's 3n1 product my credit score is reported anywhere from 10 to 100 points above what the lenders I've approached for a mortgage are receiving. These products as well as every other credit monitoring report product advertises. I cannot get a mortgage because of (1) low credit score—at least the one the lenders see and (2) too many inquiries. Well, duh, how else can I get an accurate score? I entered into a contract to purchase a house in November based on the BoA Privacy Assist scores and they will not give me a mortgage and I've been banking with them for years.
All my debts were paid off in April of 2009 including a credit card with them. Yes, there were delinquencies and some medical collections, all taken care of and never to be repeated. Any bank I approach says they cannot use the report from BoA Privacy Assist but must make their own inquiry. Another hit on ye old inquiry tally and a ding on the score. I am trying to build a record as I really think the industry is either lying/falsely advertising their products and/or are discriminating against low-middle income people through false credit scores.
