Complaint / review text:
I am complaining two incidents that happened when BofA sold our loan to Key Bank. First of all, we were not notified that the loan was sold. Our September loan payment to BofA was paid just the same through our electronic banking. So when October's payment didn't come out as usual, I called to find out why. I was then told our loan was sold to Key Bank, and shortly after that, we received a late payment notice from Key Bank stating we never made the September or October's payment. We quickly overnighted the October's payment and provided proof that the September payment was taken by BofA. Key Bank charged us over a $200 late fee and told us that it stands regardless of what occurred. Also, on our end, it appears that the September payment that BofA took was never applied to our loan, tax or impound accounts. I have asked for statements and they have not sent any, or even a 1099.
The other huge complaint I have regarding this loan is when we purchased the property, it is two parcels and one was done with a lot split. Well, we just found out that since the inception of this loan, 12/2007, the mortgage company (1st being LaSalle, then BofA, now Key Bank) has been making our tax payment to the wrong parcel number. This was always an impound account. Now, no one will take responsibility or help us. It's like this money which is like $7000 - $8000 a year is just gone and we will have to fight for it. We pay our impound account every month. They should be taking responsibility for the tax payment. Please advise us.
The consequence is first complaint, the loss of a whole month's payment and a late fee. Second, approximately $15,000 - $20,000 of misapplied tax payments and tax delinquent fees on the parcel that never had any tax payments made to it.
