Complaint / review text:
My mortgage was being serviced by Tayor, Bean, and Whitaker, but was transferred to Cenlar. Cenlar they demanded an additional ~50% in monthly payments over what I had agreed to in my loan and had been paying for many months with no problems at TBW. I called Cenlar several times to try to figure out why I was being charged all these additional line items including Homeowner's Insurance which I don't want and never agreed to and some others that they never adequately explained to me.
The first new charge I inquired about was the Homeowner's Insurance, since I figured this would be a no-brainer and could be easily resolved. The short of it is, I never purchased homeowner's insurance, I don't want homeowner's insurance, I never agreed to pay for homeowner's insurance, and I'm not going to pay for homeowner's insurance. I thought this was pretty straightforward and asked them to remove it from my monthly breakdown.
I was informed that Cenlar "requires" that I purchase homeowner's insurance, whether I agree to it or not, and that it is a "force payment." That is their phrase. At this point, I decided there was no point in continuing to deal with these people. I'm currently searching for a class action that I can join. Mental and emotional strain. Valuable time taken away from running my business.
