Complaint / review text:
I financed my furniture through GE back in 2008. Since I have had them, I have always made two payments a month, if not three (depending on the paycheck). I have never been behind or missed a payment. So when I am at work and get 5 phone calls from a strange number, I am shocked to hear it is GE telling me my account is late. Especially since I just got them to drop my interest rate from the insane 30% to an understandable 10%. I go through the automated system for 10 minutes trying to get a hold of a live person.
When I finally get a hold of some one it is an Indian woman with an accent so thick, I can barely understand what she is trying to tell me. From what I gathered out of what she was saying is that, I paid on the 2nd of April and the 20th, but the payment on the 2nd went toward the March payment even though the March payment was already paid. I asked to speak to her manager and after sitting on hold for 22 minutes, she picked up again and said Hello? Yes I was still there. She then hung up on me.
I called back again and again another accent I could not understand and again I asked for the manager, once again I get hung up on. After 4 hours of attempts to speak to a manager and being hung up on by several different employees, I finally get to speak to a woman without the accent and actually understands what has happened. They would not take back the late charges off my account and it still went negative toward my credit. The only thing that was able to be solved is that they may take the late charge off of the overall payment in the next 3 months. When I get done paying this furniture off, I will never use them again. I have never felt so much disrespect from a company as I have with GE.
