Complaint / review text:
I had a car loan with JP Morgan Chase Auto Finance. I paid the loan off in full (in cash) at a Chase bank branch on April 16. I received paperwork showing my loan was paid in full. Yesterday, May 18, JP Morgan Chase tried to take an electronic fund transfer from my bank account for the monthly payment. When I called JP Morgan Chase, I was told that paying off the loan does not stop the monthly payments on the loan. The rude people at JP Morgan Chase told me that I was responsible for going to the website and canceling the payments. They acted like the error was my fault. I find it stunning that a bank could continue to try and shake money out of me after I have paid off my loan. This is thievery! JP Morgan Chase shows no remorse. JP Morgan Chase agreed to cancel further electronic fund transfer attempts from my checking account, but will not reimburse me for the $10 charge I paid to stop the first EFT attempt.
