Experian keeps charging my Visa $14.95 for a credit report I never requested or received. The first time was on 7/6/11. On 7/11/11 I noticed the charge and both my credit card company and I got on the phone with Experian. They claimed someone had stolen my credit card number and requested a credit report for someone other than me, the cardholder. They said they would reverse the charges and did on 7/12/11. However, there is now another pending charge from Experian for $14.95, which my credit company cannot dispute until the charge goes through.
Through all of this there are no other fraudulent charges. I do not think someone is stealing my card number to get credit reports; If an individual stole my card number they would be purchasing fuel and groceries. I think Experian just randomly charges peoples cards and hopes the customer doesn't see and dispute it. They have everyone's credit card numbers since they "monitor" peoples accounts. It's becoming a massive waste of my time and a huge irritation. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
