NFCU screwed up on 2 wire transfers-1 to the IRS and 1 to VA Tax Office and cost me thousands in late fees and inappropriately took money out of my money market account (the wrong account and shut the account down) before even notifying me I was Late (I have a spotless record of 50 years of many loans) and prior to the 10 day grace period that seems to be pretty standard in the industry. I am not allowed to talk to anyone involved in any of the 3 errors and the only info from assistant managers is a lot of platitudes and not even a "I'm sorry this happened".
I am about to sever my relationship. NFCU expanded much too quickly and without adequately trained staff and took on many fiscally clients who are not fiscally responsible. Even many military officers are not fiscally responsible today. I suspect the collection branch is swamped.
It is not the client oriented organization I joined so many years ago.
When I have called since the huge expansion, I will only speak with representatives with 5 or 6 years time with NFCU as they are helpful AND knowledgeable! Many of them express frustration levels close tyo my own.
