Complaint / review text:
I got a Juniper Credit Card about 2 months ago — with $2,000 credit limit and 7.99% Interest — I started using the card but not very much because I was saving it to use when I go on my cruise. I paid the first payment before it was due and instead of the minimum payment of $15.00, I paid $100.00.
Shortly after that I received an e-mail notice that my statement was on-line for review and payment along with a notice that my credit line had been reduced from $2,000 to $900.00 because it appeared I abused my credit card privledeges. Not only did they decrease my limit, they also increased the interest rate to 15.99% —
How could I have abused my privledges? I paid more than what was due and ahead of time. When I called they said that my credit score had dropped a few points — well, yeah, duh! They ran my credit 5 time — that will surely make your score lose a few points. When I questioned the credit checks he said they did not run the credit that many times and in any case they were only "soft" inquiries. Tell Experian, Transunion and the other credit bureaus that! They don't report it if it doesn't happen! Needless to say, I am paying off the $300.00 I owe them and will cut up the card.
