Complaint / review text:
My mortgage was sold by Chase to Carrington. I received a letter in the mail @ the end of November of this year 2013 that my new mortgage co. Would be Carrington. This was not a familiar co. To me and I felt uneasy that I would now be dealing with an unknown mortgage co., since the five years I dealt with Chase was problem-free. I decided to mail my first mortgage payment because Carrington was not a known co., to me.instead of paying online as I had done with Chase for five years, I mailed the payment. I also called Carrington to verify the correct mailing address & my loan account number so there would not be any issues, delays or problems.
Well lo and behold according to Carrington they have not received my payment, yet the check had cleared & I now have to go to the bank to get a copy of the cleared check stamped on front & back of check by my bank & fax it to Carrington. I am fearful now in reading all the nightmares that others have endured @ the hands of this incompetent co. I was not aware that Carrington is a foreign co, how can consumers hold them liable for their actions?
