My brpther, Kanyisa Matafeni, passed on in November 2014 and he left me as a beneficiary of a life policy from 1life. I requested the tape and the policy documents since I didnt have. I submitted all the claims for this said life cover and they said they wont pay because they said its a accidental life cover. On the documents and the tape, it is stated that if Kanyisa doesnt do the HIV test within 3 months of taking the policy, it will automatically be converted to an accidentally cover. Page 23 of their life cover policy book clearly states that "the life assured will automatically be covered for accidental death only and premiums will be reduced accordingly". The premiums were never reduced as I checked his bank statements instead they increased after 2 years. To me that shows that he did the test. Secondly, as 1life consultant did suggest where Kanyisa must go to do the test, how are we going to make sure that he really didnt make this test. But anyway this doesnt matter as the premiums didnt decrease.
