We are in the process of applying for a home loan with standard bank. They have messed up our application something chronic. They're unable to read bank statements and have requested a ridiculous about of documentation (which we have supplied) but they're still messing us around. My husband has been a Standard Bank client for more than 30 years and our current bond is with Standard Bank (we have never defaulted on payment, in actual fact we pay more into our bond than necessary on a monthly basis) and our 2 previous bonds but yet the service is appalling. It's so bad that my husband is considering closing all of his standard bank accounts and moving banks. We're only applying for a 62% bond which we more than qualify for but yet we're being treated like criminals. The funny thing is that Standard Bank is quick to phone my husband wasting his time with 'new offers' and more credit on his credit card (which we always decline) but can't assist us with a bond and keeping our business.
