Do not use hrblock.com. Mislead me to pay for NY state e-file when they are not even approved by the state for e-file.
The software tells me to pay to e-file, but the e-file will never work. E-file attempt gets "unable to process" message immediately. Afterwards, the only option is to print and mail the return. Essentially a bait and switch from e-filing to printing and manually sending it.
Unethical way of getting people to pay for services that will not be rendered. Now they won't refund the fee, and the phone support people are obnoxious (e. G. Telling me to call another number, call that number and they say they can't help.) Specifically, the guy tells me, to call a number to speak with the people who can handle refunds. I call that number and get a guy who says he can make in-office appointments.
He tells me I was speaking with the right department before. Total aholes since the original department has a 45 minute hold wait on the phone to get connected.
