I took out an investment policy in nov 2008. I contacted metropolitan in January 2013 to cancel the policy, but it was for some reason converted into "partial surrender". Metropolitan kept on deducting my account for another 10 months!!! After much struggle i managed to stop the deductions in November 2013. I finally recieved correspondence from metropolitan on 27 January 2014, by means of a Mr Buhle July, who informed me that the policy is restricted till! November 2014.
On 16 March 2015, I sent another email to requesting somebody to assist me on this matter, since the "restriction" date has passed. On 25 March 2015 miss Lillian Booi responded with an email containing the policy details and reflecting values. I replied the same day asking her to please send me the documentation or whatever i need to get my money out of the policy. Now more than 2 weeks later, I still have not recieved any correspondence. When i call the call centre, i either cant get through, or get put on hold. Even my emails to [email protected] Keeps failing to go through.
What must i do to just get back MY money? I have been struggling with this issue for more than a year now.
