We had a lightening Strike on the 27th March 2015, which damaged our entire Alarm system, Electric fence & electrical Box etc.
We contacted ABSA Insurance and they logged the Claim. I contacted my Alarm Company as i could not wait days for the Contractors to come out and assessor the damage as my husband was out of the country on business and i was left with no alarm system or electric fence. I received a quotation from my Alarm people and said they must go ahead with the repair. My alarm people received a call from the contractors who said they must stop what they are doing. My alarm people refused as they where nearly finished with the repairs to my alarm system and electric fence. I submitted the invoice for the repairs on the 22 April 2015. Since then i have not had one call from ABSA. I have resent the invoice numerous times. I have called only to get told that the person responsible is on leave. Is there only one person working at ABSA? No one seems interested in my Claim. WE have paid out R64 152.00. I have never had a good experience with ABSA Insurance. I think it is ridiculous that it takes nearly ONE month to send me documents to sign to refund us the money.
