I applied for a Homeloan with Standard Bank on the 28th April 2015 (App no 5075907). I was advised that my application was declined because the bank is not happy with the 2015 Body Corporate Financials. I then requested the 2015 draft Financials and submitted them and the Sectional Title dept was happy with those. The Homeloan Sales dept decided to capture a new app (Ref 5092618) instead of reviewing the existing one and I now have to wait 10 working days for a decision. This is beyond ridiculous as it's been 3 weeks since I submitted my first application. I received approvals from FNB, ABSA (banks that I don't have a current account with) and SA Homeloans within 2 days but I would prefer to do business with Standard Bank. Continue with this deplorable service levels and you will continue to lose customers in droves to FNB which evidently puts customer service ahead of organizational red tape. I will proceed to take up the Homeloan with FNB if I don't have feedback on my application by 21st May.
