Complaint / review text:
I had invested money for myself, my wife and daughter 5 years ago and when it matured earlier this year, FNB re-invested for another 5 years without checking or getting any confirmation or instruction from me to do so.
Furthermore FNB's investment rates are pathetic compared to what is available from other institutions yet they claim the re-investment was automated and to protect the client from loosing interest.
Now that I need the cash FNB wants to charge a penalty to release my own funds, and insists it is now fixed for 5 more years unless I pay a penalty of up to R11500,00
Steer away from FNB if want service, courtesy and trust in a bank that looks after you
